ReUp March – Call for Art!

In preparation for Earth Day and Go Green In the City in April, The Dark Parlour encourages artists to submit works that:

recycle, reuse, reduce, reclaim, repurpose, and upcycle materials, creating a piece that visual communicates topics for further thought such a climate change, fossil fuels, overproduction, environmental restoration and conservation, etc.

These pieces could then potentially be a part of the Go Green event on April 22nd.

This showcase is unlike any other we’ve hosted before, and we are so looking forward to see what you submit. Call for Art is February 1st – 15th, with the ReUp March showcase opening on First Friday, March 3rd, running through March 25th.

Submission guidelines:

1. Email info@thedarkparlour.com with photos of up to 3 submissions in any style, that use recycled or natural elements, or works that explore the topic of environmental issues. Photos must include a neutral background. (i.e. no photos of artworks with your living room as a background) Pieces can be sculptural.

2. Include exhibiting name, location, titles of works, prices of works, and size.

3. Submissions must be ready to hang/display.

4. Include a brief bio and some points of interest specific to you that you’d like to include in regards to the theme of the show.

There is NO fee to submit works. Upon acceptance of your works, a $15 acceptance fee will be invoiced, with a portion to be donated to a local environmental initiative at the conclusion of the showcase.
