Everyone is invited to the York County Insect Fair at the York County 4-H Center. You will experience insects as you never have before!
The York County Insect Fair is a free event providing children and adults an opportunity to learn about insects. Most insects are beneficial with only 3% of insects actually being considered pests.
Adults and youth alike will want to attend to learn about beneficial insects, pollinators, butterflies, bees and much more. A number of 4-H clubs will be sharing related projects and activities. The Bug Man himself – our own Ryan Bridge will be sharing his insect collection and providing a program. There will be experts and activities galore – you just won’t want to miss it. Best of all – it’s FREE! Food will be available for purchase.
Some of the activities and exhibits will include: Insect Zoo, Bug Collectors and Collections, Face Painting and Games, Master Gardener Ask the Experts, Pesticide Safety Education, Gardening for Pollinators, Moths and Butterflies, The Soil is Alive, Birds Need Caterpillars, Aquatic Insects and a variety of Arts and Crafts Activities.
The Bug Man programs will be offered at 11 am and 1 pm. Edible Insects programs will be held at 10:30 am and 2 pm.
