YORK ART ASSOCIATION’S 46th ANNUAL OPEN JURIED EXHIBITION

We are now accepting digital submissions for this regional showcase of artworks in all mediums (except installation and video/film).

This exhibition is generously sponsored by Prospect Hill Cemetery and Cremation Gardens.

ENTRY DEADLINE:
Submissions must be postmarked by FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2016.
Artists are also invited to drop off their submission materials at the York Art Association office Monday – Friday, 9am – 3pm. If dropping off, you must do so by 3pm on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2016.

This year’s juror for both the exhibition and awards is Michael Gallagher, Associate Professor, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Mr. Gallagher is a painter whose work moves freely between abstraction and representation. He is represented by the Edgewood Orchard Galleries in Fish Creek, Wisconsin and the Schmidt Dean Gallery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

His works are in a number of public and corporate collections including the Wilmington Trust, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the Woodmere Museum of Art.

He studied at PAFA and was awarded the Excellence in Teaching award in 2007 and 2011.

Mr. Gallagher teaches courses in Drawing/Mixed Media, Still Life Painting, Advanced Still Life Painting and Advanced Painting, the Painting Thesis Seminar, and is a Critic in the Certificate/BFA program. He also teaches in the graduate program as well as courses in the Continuing Education program.

2-D and 3-D works are being accepted in all mediums but must not exceed 48″ wide X 60″ high including the frame. Gallery wrapped canvas edges must be finished. Heavy sculpture must be set up by the artist.

Entries may not be removed prior to the close of the exhibition (Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 12pm).

$17.00/artwork (up to 3) for non-members

COMMISSION ON WORKS SOLD:
25% for members
30% for non-members
York Art Association handles all sales and collects/reports/pays sales tax. Sales Tax is not included in commission calculations.

AWARDS WILL BE DETERMINED AFTER DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION OF PHYSICAL ARTWORKS:

Best in Show – $800
1st Place – $500
2nd Place – $400
3rd Place – $300
6 Awards of Excellence – $150 each
6 Awards of Merit – $100 each

All works accepted for exhibition must be hand delivered to the York Art Association. Shipped works WILL NOT be accepted.

INTAKE OF ACCEPTED WORKS:
Thursday – Friday, October 27 – 28; 9am – 3pm
Saturday, October 29; 9am – 12pm

OPENING RECEPTION:
Sunday, November 6; 2pm – 4pm (Awards are presented at approximately 3pm.)

PICK UP OF EXHIBITED WORKS:
Saturday, December 17; 12pm – 1pm
Monday – Tuesday, December 19 – 20; 9am – 3pm
