StoryWalk® Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening

StoryWalk® Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening

Presented by York County Libraries at Springettsbury Township Park

Springettsbury Township, in collaboration with York County Libraries, is unveiling our new StoryWalk®.  The ceremony and grand opening celebration includes remarks from local officials, family-friendly activities including games and crafts, and the opportunity for attendees to be among the first to explore the new StoryWalk®.

Pages from a children’s book are displayed along the walking path adjacent to Springetts Castle Park, inviting community members to embark on a literary adventure as they stroll through the park. The book will change throughout the year, providing new opportunities for families to talk about what they see in the book and in the park.

The StoryWalk® Project was originally created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in 2007. The shared idea has taken root in communities across the United States and in 13 countries including Germany, England, Maylasia, and South Korea.
