Nearly 200 pieces of art are included in the Open Exhibit, sponsored by the Hanover Area Arts Guild. A total of $2,100 in awards will be presented to artists at a reception, set for 2-4 p.m. Aug. 7; the reception is open to the community. A gallery talk by the judge also is planned at the reception. Ry Fryar, coordinator of the Art Division at York College, will talk following the awards presentation.

The artwork is being judged in five categories and features work from Arts Guild members as well as regional artists. “We are excited to see so many great pieces of art,” said Eric Miller, one of the show’s organizers.
