“The Adventure of the Wrong Santa Claus” – 1914 

The amateur detective Octavius is asked to play ‘Santa Claus’ at the home of his friends, the Randall family. He picks up a costume and goes to visit them. Although Mrs. Randall already has a ‘Santa Claus’ costume available, Octavius decides to wear his own. But a burglar sneaks into the house, puts on the other costume, knocks out Octavius, and robs the family. When Octavius comes to, he is determined to catch the criminal.

“Big Business” With Laurel and Hardy – 1929 

Stan and Ollie are Christmas tree salesmen in California. Business is slow and a simple argument with one grumpy prospective customer (James Finlayson) escalates from a simple argument into full scale mutual destruction with Stan & Ollie destroying the customers house and garden, whilst Finlayson reduces their car to scrap metal, all under the disbelieving gaze of a police officer and an assembled crowd.

“Electric House” starring Buster Keaton – 1922

Botany major Buster mistakenly graduates in electrical engineering and is hired to wire a new home. He installs lots of fanciful gadgets. The one who should have received the degree gets even by rewiring all the gadgets to wreak havoc.
