Lift up a child’s voice. A child’s life. York County CASA is recruiting everyday people to advocate for local children.
CASAs, or Court Appointed Special Advocates, are volunteers who are appointed by a Judge to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the court system. They serve as the eyes and ears of the Judge, gathering information and reporting that information back to the Judge as well as making recommendations. Their focus is to ensure safety, permanency and stability of these children.
Information sessions will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm and again from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the third floor conference room of the York County Judicial Center, 45 North George Street in York.
Volunteers are screened and trained.
