Michele Byrne will teach a 2-day workshop on oil painting using a palette knife and bold brushwork at the York Art Association, Dec 7 & 8.
For this workshop, Michele Byrne will be teaching the impressionistic approach to plein air painting – with thicker, looser paint using a palette knife and bold brush strokes. Emphasis will be on design, value and composition to tell a story. Byrne will discuss the importance of composition and value studies and will do a short lecture and demo each morning. After that, you will paint from a photograph and Byrne will work with students one-on-one.
Thursday & Friday, December 7 & 8, 2017: 9:30 am to 4 pm (1/2 hour lunch break each day)
