An installation in The Project Space at Creative York by Baltimore artist Elizabeth Miller.
Join us for the opening reception at Creative York on Thursday, March 1 from 6-8pm, with light refreshments. Also opening that same night in The Kerlin Gallery at Creative York is “Pieces Of Us” a group exhibit of artworks by first-generation US immigrants.
From the artist:
Hair is a part of all of us. It is anchored in our skin. We live within it. African American hair styles and designs have enjoyed a rich, multi-hemispheric tradition spanning centuries that are both the product of and a response to the systemic racism and atrocities which African-Americans and their ancestors are all too well acquainted.
