Friends & Neighbors is a 501(c)(3) “for impact” organization. Our Coordinated Street Outreach program to the unsheltered in the City of York and the surrounding municipalities serves more than 20 people every day (on average).  This program, the only one of its kind in the city, coordinates various services for our neighbors through a collaborate network of service providers.  In addition, Friends & Neighbors partners with the York County District Attorney’s office and York City Police Department to provide Group Violence Intervention (GVI) Credible Messengers.  These “violence interrupters” maintain relationships with youth, their families, and others that are involved or could be involved in group-related violence.  Their positive influence is making a difference every day and reducing violence in York.

We are currently in collaborative relationships with many organizations pursuing positive changes in York, and we are always seeking new opportunities for collaboration. Our mission is to create change by boldly applying best practices and innovative solutions to stubborn problems that hurt our communities and prevent opportunities. We have also created a short document that provides more information: https://fnofpa.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/FN-Organization-Overview.pdf
