Please join us for the York County Honors Choirs Season Finale Concert, culminating our season of performances and music education.
You will be amazed at the professional quality performed by our middle and high school students. “Beautiful concert – You think it can’t get better … and then it does!”
In 1998, a choir of high school students from across York County was formed as York County Honors Choir to participate in the county’s 250th anniversary celebration. Twenty years later, there are now two main choirs and two smaller performance groups, including students in grades 7 to 12, who are invited to audition from every school district in York County. The choirs are administered by a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which has fostered unique relationships with school districts, private music instructors, and homeschoolers to represent all of York County.
The choirs are under the direction of Donna Knott and Susan Feldmann – Junior Honors Choir and Randy Yoder and Michal Buchanan – Senior Honors Choir.
In 20 years, 1000 students have represented YCHC, performing in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Waldorf-Astoria, United Nations, Carnegie Hall, St. John the Divine, Washington National Cathedral, Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium in Providence, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, at Orioles baseball games, in Heinz Chapel, the Naval Academy Chapel, Penn State, Washington DC, Hershey, Philadelphia, Williamsburg, and in the great cathedrals of England and France.
