Chalk Walk is an exciting event designed to celebrate the creativity of artists and promote the importance of public art.

About Chalk Walk

Chalk Walk is an exciting event designed to celebrate the creativity of artists and promote the importance of public art. The sidewalks of downtown York become an artist’s canvas and a place for audience to watch works of art being created. Murals will be located in the square in Downtown York (Intersection of Market and George Streets).

Creative York will be partnering with Yorkfest and York Arts Week to present Chalk Walk on Saturday August 19, 2023 from 9AM to 4PM. The chalk murals will be created on the square in downtown York. Rain date: Sunday, August 20, 2023.

How to Get Involved

Artists: All artists – professional, amateur and emerging, are encouraged to participate. High school and adult categories. Registration is necessary to be eligible for selection.

Volunteers: The success of this innovative effort lies in part with the generosity of its volunteers. Everyone is invited to be a part of this great day. For details on how you can contribute, please contact Mindy at 717-848-3200 or email mindy@creativeyork.org.
