We’re having a show for our Figure Drawing Community! One of our core recurring programs that results in a lot of cool stuff that should be shared! The opening reception for “Figurative Art – A closer look at the human form” will be at the Grotto for April First Friday in downtown York, PA!
The reception will be open from 5:00pm – 7:00pm with private tours available until end of May.
Please come enjoy the show, meet the artists, and mingle with other local art lovers in the bustle of First Friday!
ABOUT THE SHOW
The artists who come together for figure drawing on a weekly or monthly basis have a wide range of interests. The thought behind this collection of work was to showcase a variety of styles and mediums depicting the way each artists interprets the human form. This body of work is meant to allow the viewer to experience insight into to stories of both the artist and the figurative model they are working with.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Downtown York Figure drawing group is comprised of several local artists who attend figure drawing sessions within the city. The majority of artists in this show attend Grotto’s very own figure drawing group held on the last Monday of every month from 6pm-9pm. Attendees work in various mediums from drawing, and painting to sculpture. The artists in this this show work in all types of fields both art and non-art related but come together over a shared love of figurative art.
