Artist Show Opening: EG Photography

The opening reception for Emily Golihew’s Show will be at the Grotto for October First Friday in downtown York, PA!

The reception will be open from 5:00pm – 7:00pm with private tours available until end of November.

ABOUT THE SHOW
My skill often falls into one of three categories: as a business owner, as a fine artist, and as a world traveler. Each often overlaps in some way, so it didn’t feel right to completely separate or focus on one over the other. The section for EG Photography highlights my favorite moments as a hired photographer. My business is full-service, so I have the privilege of such a varied market to keep me on my toes. I’ve only recently returned to a more personal form of fine art photography. I’ve found a lot of inspiration in more fantastical designs and fashion elements, along with more dramatic lighting and colors than I normally encounter through my normal clientele. Finally (or firstly?), I have returned to my origins as a travel photographer, showcasing my favorites from my journeys both here and abroad in India.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
I started my journey as a photographer during my time at Susquehanna University, where I was actually working on my Creative Writing degree. Storytelling has always been a passion of mine, and I fell in love with creating visual stories just as much as putting ink to a page. A captured second can tell remarkable volumes, both in the subject itself as well as my place in the world when I took it.
