The Christmas City Express is a children’s story experience with a journey aboard the Ma & Pa Railroad through the Muddy Creek Valley.
For two weekends only, December 8, 9 and 10 as well as 15, 16 and 17 you and your family can ride the Christmas City Express for an evening of fun at the Ma & Pa Railroad Heritage Village in Muddy Creek Forks. This children’s story experience, complete with a journey aboard the Ma & Pa Railroad through the Muddy Creek Valley, is a delightful way for Central Pennsylvanians to celebrate the season. The tale recounts the overnight journey of a young girl traveling by train to her grandparents for Christmas who is stranded in a terrible blizzard and how the train crew saves Christmas for everyone on board.
The special excursions occur at 7 pm on Friday December 8 and 15; 5 and 7 pm on Saturday December 9 and 16; and 2:30 and 5 pm on Sunday December 10 and 17. Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for children and include a Christmas City Express motorcar train ride. After the ride are family activities and crafts, a visit from Santa, antique Lionel trains in operation, a keepsake snowflake ornament along with cookies and hot chocolate.
