Two special events are coming to the Ma & Pa Heritage Village, World War I and Fall Foliage Train Rides.
With the advent of fall, two special events are coming to the Ma & Pa Heritage Village, Muddy Creek Forks, including one weekend where you can enjoy both.
World War I re-enactors will again visit Muddy Creek Forks October 14-15 for an event featuring the history of the war to end all wars. They will display authentic uniforms, arms, and supplies and interpret the history of the war for visitors. Re-enactors representing American, British, German, and French forces are expected to be on hand. Hours are 11 am – 4 pm Saturday and 1 – 5 pm Sunday.
While visiting that weekend and then continuing two additional weekends, (October 21-22 and October 28-29) are the always popular autumn foliage motorcar train rides. This is a stunning way for rail fans and leaf peepers alike to experience all the bright colors the fall season has to offer on a journey through the Muddy Creek Valley.
Fall foliage trains run from Noon to 4 pm on Saturdays, October 14, 21 and 28 and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays, October 15, 22 and 29 at a quarter past each hour. These autumnal rides are quite popular and often sell out. Train excursions are $10 for adults and $7 for children 3-12 and free for children under 3. Visitors can ensure seats for the train time they prefer by ordering tickets in advance on the Ma & Pa Railroad website: www.MaAndPaRailroad.com. Same day tickets can be purchased (if available) at the railroad station in the general store. Admission to the historic village and buildings is free.
