First Capital Fife and Drum Ensemble on the Hanover Junction Flyer

Outside your window is the beautiful York County  and the Heritage Rail Trail, while you enjoy this excursion to Hanover Junction. We will take you back in time to the 1860s, when President Lincoln rode these tracks on his way to Gettysburg to deliver his now-famous Gettysburg Address. Enjoy the scenic countryside and visit the Hanover Junction Museum on the stopover.  ALL ABOARD!

The First Capital Fife and Drum Corps from York Pennsylvania is happy to celebrate it’s sixth year of existence providing traditional fife and drum music in a positive, educational and fun environment. The First Capital Fife and Drum Corps is open to students from age 8-18 and requires no previous experience, just the desired to learn and perform the music that forged our great nation .  Our repertoire includes patriotic favorites such as Yankee Doodle and Battle Hymn of the Republic, as well as popular folk tunes like Camptown Races and Oh Susanna. The First Capital Fife and Drum Corps has been honored to perform at events such as The 4th of July Fireworks Bash, The Harrisburg Senators and York Revolution games, The Pennsylvania Horse Show and many other community events.  We hope our listeners will take a step back in time with us as we celebrate our nation’s history. The First Capital Fife and Drum Corps is proudly under the direction of Zane Ruth and Nicole Seiberling.

First Capital Fife and Drum will ride the train and perform on the grounds at Hanover Junction.  This is their fourth year performing for Steam in History and are always a welcome addition.  They are high energy, entertaining and always well received musicians from ages 14 to 20.  Enjoy their showmanship as you take a break at Hanover Junction.

The coaches are pushed and pulled by our vintage diesel locomotive.

There will be no narration on this train.

This excursion is two and a half hours.

Tickets will be available to be picked up at the ticket booth in the back of the gift shop on the day of the trip. 

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to departure.
