Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst, the husband-and-wife duo of Shovels & Rope, have carved out a niche in the music world with strong, roots/ indie/ folk/ rock-inspired efforts like 2012’s O’ Be Joyful, 2014’s Swimmin’ Time and 2019’s fan favorite By Blood. They perform as an energetic two-piece band, stirring up a righteous racket with two old guitars, a handful of harmonicas, the occasional keyboard, and a junkyard drum kit. Don’t miss this one!
