The Great Southern Train Raid on the Northern Central

NCRR Train Raid and Living History Weekend

ALL ABOARD!  The NCRR Train is headed for Washington, DC and rumor is there’s gold onboard.  This could mean a TRAIN RAID!  Steam Into History invites everyone to ride the NCRR steam engine pulled train through the rolling hills of New Freedom.  This will be an exciting weekend filled with adventure and suspense.  This excursion features the Union and Confederate armies skirmishing for control of the train . . . and the GOLD.  This ride calls for all Civil War steam engine enthusiasts, children who love a Living History and a train ride filled with fun.  Photographers will also enjoy the action.  So come on out to New Freedom, sit back and take a train ride back to 1863.

The fun does not end there, following the train ride, take a ride to Railroad Park and bring your family and friends to the Living History camp.  Visit the park and learn how soldiers camped in garrison as they protect the little town of Railroad, PA.  The soldiers welcome your interest in America’s history and encourage the children to share their experiences with the train raid and how the soldiers on board found the gold!

Warning – this train ride includes guns and loud noises!

The coaches are pushed and pulled by our steam locomotive.

This excursion is about an hour long.

Tickets will be available to be picked up at the ticket booth in the back of the gift shop on the day of the trip.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to departure.
