York College Graphic Design & Fine Art Exhibition
Please note, this event has expired.
December 9-20, 2016
Presentations: 12/9, 5:00 PM, DeMeester Recital Hall with reception following.
This exhibition features the work of students from the Division of Art in their final semester of study at York College. Seniors majoring in Fine Art display their final bodies of work, often organized around cohesive thematic and/or formal concerns. Seniors majoring in Graphic Design exhibit their final projects, which begin with the introduction of a common design problem during their final semester that each senior interprets individually. This exhibition demonstrates the artistic and conceptual growth the students have achieved in our program before leaving to pursue careers as professional graphic designers, illustrators and fine artists. The students work collectively during their final semester to refine their creative vision and learn to present themselves and their work in a professional manner. This process culminates with the Senior Presentations and Exhibition, which require the seniors to deliver a PechaKucha-style lecture on their current work before a large public audience and make aesthetic choices in presenting their work in a professional gallery setting.
A reception and announcement of awards will follow the presentations on 12/9 in the Wolf Hall lobby and York College Galleries respectively. Refreshments will be served.
