Homeschool Days

The History Center offers an opportunity for homeschooled students and their families to participate in thematic, hands-on experiences.

Homeschool families love to learn at the museum! The History Center offers a unique opportunity for homeschooled students and their families to participate in thematic, hands-on STEAM experiences centered on the museum’s exhibits. Programs are designed for elementary school-age students but younger and older siblings are welcome to participate. The fee is $5/student and adults are free and must remain with their child during this activity.

Participants are invited to explore the museum following the workshop.

Start your Engines!
April 5, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Agricultural and Industrial Museum
Create your own air-powered car and learn about York’s car manufacturing history.

Let it Grow!

Come explore the art of gardening during National Garden month.

Seize the Clay!
May 3, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Agricultural and Industrial Museum
Create some homemade “clay” and learn about the history of pottery.

Glass and Glassmaking
May 17, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Agricultural and Industrial Museum
Learn about the history of glass and glassmaking and make a colorful “glassy” project.
