What did people eat during the early days of York? Learn about 18th century ingredients, meal preparation, and tools.
Visit the Colonial Complex on September 26th to see Manager of Public Programs, Christine Cooper, demonstrate preparation and cooking techniques using the tools of the period. Visitors will be able to observe, ask questions, take home recipes, and visit the Tavern kitchen garden. Christine will also talk about common ingredients and where they came from. Drop in anytime from 11 AM-1 PM while a Cheshire Pork Pie, Mashed Turnips, Fried Cardoon, and White Pot will be prepared.
This event will be outdoors and visitors should dress for the weather. We also ask visitors to bring masks and practice social distancing.
