The Writer’s Eye competition is held annually at Creative York with a focus on merging the visual and literary arts in York.
The Writer’s Eye Literary Competition links the inspiration of writers to the creative vision of artists. The 2021 Writer’s Eye Literary Competition invited participants to select a piece of artwork from Creative York’s Dreams exhibition and write a poem or short story in response. This annual competition is open to students in grades 4 through 12, college students, and adults. First, second, and third-place ribbons are awarded in each age category and winning works are announced at our Awards Ceremony on March 18th from 6-7pm.
The juror this year is York Poet Laureate Emeritus Carol Clark Williams, who will be presenting the awards.
Winners will be reading selections from their pieces during this free, in person event held at Creative York! Join us on Friday, March 18th!
