Keystones Oral Histories was created in 2017 in Dauphin County Pennsylvania. Currently in the Gallery below: Javascapes & Javascapes Redux In a simple, everyday and even mundane act, life erupts from the firmament; the subatomic, microscopic, and cosmic beginnings of the universe and the history of the world are revealed in the abstractions of the flow and dispersion of cream into coffee. Javascapes began life from a serendipitous observation by artist/photographer d. g. walczyk as he poured cream into his pint glass of iced coffee in the summer of 2011. What he saw as the cream was poured and before stirring to thoroughly blend was a variable speed dispersion of the heavier liquid in the darkness of the caffeinated unknown; the formation of a new world in the cold “molten” admixture of South Pacific Blend and 1/2 & 1/2. After a few hasty iPhone photographs and the subsequent download to the computer for a more detailed examination of this Big Bang, a new creative obsession emerged. These new world formations had to be nurtured and captured with a macro lens in greater resolution. The photographer set about planning the shoot in the shade of the patio over the course of several sweltering summer days. Javascapes Redux is a highly “caffeinated” re-examination of Javascapes macros utilizing a double-exposure and blending technique discovered through experimentation. The images range in “style” from mandalic to totemic to abstract to otherworldly. Let your mind’s eye wander and your imagination dance.

I was formally educated as a writer and editor, with a master's degree in professional writing, but I love to experience beauty of all kinds. Creating photographic images is my favorite way of highlighting the beauty of the world for others to notice and appreciate. For the past several years, my images, which reveal my studies in and love of design, have been sold in art galleries, boutique shops, and restaurants in Pennsylvania and Maryland, and my work has been chosen for juried exhibits at the York Art Association, Creative York (formerly YorkArts), and the Yorkfest fine arts festival. In 2015, I happily received one of Yorkfest's Awards of Distinction. Some of my most popular images feature scenes of York City and County, but I also have made a wide variety of images from my travels. All my finished images are available to see on my website.

Artist Brenda Wintermyer is taking her hometown of York, PA by storm. Her vibrant, high energy art has become popular in the York art scene making Brenda’s art one of York’s most recognizable.   Using the skillfulness of an illustrator’s hand her linear work reflects the styles of Lautrec or Matisse. Her color palette follower van Gogh and the Fauve artists.   She moves, drips, pushes and manipulates her medium with the confidence of a life-time painter.  One art reviewer describes her approach to color as “absolutely fearless, not only bold but also brave,” adding that her work is “unpredictable, unexpected, uncompromising”.    Another review called a visit to her studio life-altering.   Brenda’s collector base has been growing steadily. Folk Art
I have been creating naive, primitive oil paintings for more than three decades. Early on, I was inspired by the folky style of Grandma Moses, the professional name of Anna Mary Robertson Moses (1860-1961), a New England farm wife who started painting in her eighties, and who became an American icon. I like to tell a story of country life in my art, a life I sometimes wish I had grown up in. It’s easy for me to get caught up in a painting and imagine myself living there. Old farmhouses, barns, ponds, cows, cats, sheep, gardens, quilts, anything to do with country life, arranged in varying and sundry order are the essence of my paintings. I paint on wood because I can achieve finer details on the smooth surface. I prefer to use antique frames carefully selected to compliment the colors in the painting. I paint each work individually, one at a time, and sell only originals. I am proud to have been included in the Early American Life magazine’s juried Directory of Traditional American Crafts every year since 2008. It’s like being a member of the Who’s Who of folk art. Also am proud that one of my paintings is in the Wounded Warrior Cafe at Walter Reed Hospital. 2 of my paintings are on book covers and available on Amazon titled Bonneauville Museum vol.1+2. I live in York County, Pennsylvania, an area rich with history because of the many 18th- and 19th-Century houses that dot the wooded hillsides and valleys. My studio is open by appointment or chance

    Performing Arts: Music
Hi, I have been listening, researching and playing old time music since I was 20 years old, and discovered a love for old bluegrass, blues and western swing music. Around 2004-2005 I formed the band “Waitin’ On A Train” with my good friend Tony Staub. Between 2005 and 2015 Waitin’ On A Train was very active in the York Music Scene, playing many local venues, events and benefits. Also traveling within Pennsylvania and frequently booking gigs in Maryland, New York, Delaware, Virginia, and West Virginia. With the birth of my first son, I had to slow things down and leave the band in 2015. I was still able to play a few shows and open mics each year, and always continued to hone my song craft at home. Recently in 2021, I formed a new act with my friend Farmer Jon backing me up as “The Ploughboys” we have been well received playing a mix of bluesy-jazzy-bluegrass music I refer to as “Old Time – Good Time – Roots Music”. We have also play a full Traditional Irish Folk set at several local venues, around St. Patrick’s Day festivities. My goal is always; to have and spread fun, to play the old time music I love so well and to create new music and arrangements that fit the “old timey” style. Thank You, Paul Wykowski
