Visual Arts: Painting

Nature inspires me and keeps me painting. I paint wild and domestic animals because I love them. But I do love my family, too. I am primarily self-taught. I learned the basics in high school, but I “discovered” my niche accidentally in 1996. I was in Ecuador for a semester of college. Before I left, I tossed in some paints and paper in my suitcase just in case I had time to paint. Happily I found that I had almost every weekend free, but I also found that I had packed watercolors and canvas paper. So I worked with what I had. I developed my own technique and style. I continue to love working with watercolors on canvas!

Our Message Our music ceremony empowers our audience so that they make bold changes and live their true soul’s purpose in the spirit of celebration. Who We Are Folk musicians Emily Potter and Jason Brown are committed to offering music in the spirit of joy and celebration. This guitar and piano duo have combined their 20+ years of experience playing in bars, restaurants, festivals, private events, and house concerts to now offer their unique message in a more meaningful way. They believe strongly in the power of music to connect people to each other and their deeper selves. Utilizing a medley of heartfelt songs, their performances are filled with original and cover songs inspired by their individual journeys of personal healing. Their songs contain powerful messages of vulnerability and surrender, yet remain filled with the celebration of overcoming life’s challenges. Emily and Jason connect intimately with the audience and build bridges to foster a world more centered in love, compassion, and gratitude.

I taught illustration for over 30 years at the Art Institute of York. I spend almost every day creating and thinking about art. Now with limited income, I try to produce ink drawings of faces and figures influenced by ancient times. I love watercolor and oil also. At 74, I work hard and usually have plenty of energy to produce. I love drawing and generate ideas through my many sketchbooks. My goal is to show fresh and unusual visions from every day images.I like to jolt the viewer and come up with drama and chiaroscuro in my work. I work with classical music and look to Hieronymus Bosch as my muse. Working in ink, I build form in a method similar to weaving. Robert E.
