Hello my name is Gigi Marrero, I’m a local DJ originally born in Reading but raised in York. Coming from a semi-big Puerto Rican family, I’m proud to be one of five girls. My journey with music began at the age of 14 when I got my hands on my first set of drums. Throughout high school, I played in the marching band, and that’s when my love for music truly blossomed. After graduation, I delved deeper into music production and spent my free time exploring and downloading music, which ultimately led me to discover the art of DJ-ing.
In 2015, I landed my first club gig at Chameleon in Lancaster, and since then, I’ve had the privilege of DJ-ing at various clubs and events across York, Lancaster, Harrisburg, Hanover, including Baby Rave, King St Jam, FestivICE, First Fridays, Poetry Events, Jazz nights, Masquerade Ball, Community Block Parties, Weddings, Holiday Parties, School Events, and Corporate Events.
From 2019 to the present, I’ve been the house DJ at Cantina of York, and I’ve also been involved in Pride events and Drag shows since 2016. Additionally, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to DJ for reality TV stars Mariah Lynn from Love and Hip Hop and Chris Perry from Married at First Sight. These experiences have honed my skills in working in fast-paced environments, staying updated with industry trends, and introducing exciting new music and mixes to cater to my diverse audiences.
In 2023, I achieved two significant milestones. I was honored with the Susquehanna Styles Best DJ award, and I currently hold an artist residency at the Parliament Arts Organization. Together with The Parliament, I curated Cloud Nine, an EDM Experience. I’m grateful to pursue my passion as a DJ, bringing an air of positivity, excitement, and leaving lasting impressions through the power of music.
